A snow storm with a lot of wind has been hitting the Black Hills. I knew it was supposed to start on Monday. So, Sunday I went out to check on the cows and sure enough they knocked the plug out of the tire tank so all the water was running down the hill. There is a really long key you put down a PVC pipe in the ground to turn off the water. I tried to put the plug back in but I needed a wrench and a new clamp so back in the four wheeler to run to the shop and back up to get it fixed.
The wind and snow have been pounding us for three days now. My three labs, Boomer, Butch and Abby each have a dog bed and are keeping me company as I work in the office with the fireplace going.
My Mom was supposed to move into her new house on Monday and we are still on hold because of the weather. I need this like a hole in the head! I have a couple moving into my Mom's old house on Saturday and guests will be arriving at the lodge. So I need to get Mom settled in, her house cleaned before the new folks move in and start baking and prepping for my lodge guests. I don't have one Christmas card done and missed a fun day with my grandson because of the weather but I am getting caught up in the office. I love having a snow day with my husband and the dogs. This too shall pass and somehow everything will get done.
So, enjoy the day, and remember to always walk into the wind, makes you look ten years younger....and no surgery!
